“The Future is Queer y de Alhambre - 2019

 

Drawings, Paintings, and Objects. Tictac Art Centre, Gallery. Brussels, Belgium.

The exhibition ran from June 22nd until July 21st, 2019.

 

Another extension of my research in this period was the creation of new art work during an AIR at Tictac Art Centre gallery in Brussels, Belgium. The exhibition was titled “The Future is Queer y de Alhambre” - the word alhambre combined two Spanish words, alambre (wire) and hambre (hunger). Simple drawings, sometimes doodle-like, cutouts, textured and layered paintings, and assemblages of found material were exhibited. Key words: "repetition," "Futur(ism)," "overpopulation," "hunger," "place," "queered body," "environment."
