Me, an Idiot, is a sound, visual, physical performance looking into the concept of Melancholia. In psychology this state is directly linked with the “missing object” for which we regularly mourn. I am a Venezuelan therefore, Who am I? By navigating history in reverse, from future(ism) to past(ism), and constantly becoming other and myself, I explore culture, gender, environment and place as my “missing objects”. This work was presented at Pieter in Los Angeles, at OT301 in Amsterdam, in the ELSE Foundation symposium in Mexico City, in Crossing Boundaries at Dixon Place in NYC, and in a shared evening of performances in the NOT FESTIVAL project’s opening night at UCR
